Co-in-Co Project

About Co-in-Co: Pioneering Micro-Business Resilience

Co-in-Co, short for “Cooperation in Competition,” is our response to the challenges that COVID-19 has thrust upon micro and small businesses in the tranquil rural landscapes of the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Our Dual Mission

1. Empowering Resilience: Our first mission is to bolster industries profoundly impacted by the pandemic—tourism, agriculture, transportation, and retail. How? By equipping businesses with the tools they need:

  • Entrepreneurial and digital skills through comprehensive training.
  • Collaborative problem-solving through cluster networks.
  • A treasure trove of shared wisdom in our prized “Book of Business.”

2. Fostering Connectivity: Our second mission revolves around fostering partnerships—both among rural enterprises and with their urban counterparts. By enhancing rural businesses’ proficiency in digitalization, collaboration, and sustainable practices, we prepare them to thrive in a post-COVID world.

Guided by EU Rural Development Policy

Aligned with the EU’s vision for rural areas and their digital transformation, Co-in-Co is all about:

  • Nurturing partnerships.
  • Developing digital dexterity.
  • Defining pertinent training topics for future adult education.
  • Crafting the Book of Business—an open-access resource for continual micro and small business development in Nordic-Baltic rural regions.

Our Journey So Far

Between November 2021 and January 2023, our dedicated Co-in-Co partners from seven countries embarked on a journey to:

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, covering “Entrepreneurship in cluster networks,” “General digital skills,” and “Digital skills for entrepreneurs.”
  • Empower our partner organizations through “train-the-trainer” activities.
  • Implement pilot programs in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Greenland.
  • Curate the Book of Business—a compendium of transferable best practices on these vital subjects.

At Co-in-Co, we’re not just navigating the challenges of today; we’re charting a course for a brighter, more resilient future for micro and small businesses across our beautiful region.
